"For many artists, including Mister Cartoon, this show was an opportunity to showcase work that was deeply rooted in the streets of Los Angeles. His mural, created entirely with spray paint and airbrush, told the story of LA from past to present—its culture, its people, its essence. The installation, accompanied by his custom-painted lowriders, brought a raw and authentic representation of the city’s art to a fine art institution, something rarely seen before. The mural’s impact was undeniable, even landing on the cover of LA Weekly.
Now, over a decade later, we are proud to release a limited edition print of this iconic mural. This release is more than just a print—it’s a continuation of the energy and significance of Art in the Streets. It’s about preserving the legacy of the show, celebrating graffiti culture on a global scale, and ensuring that the art that once lived on the museum walls continues to inspire and be seen." - Beyond the Streets
